Education Sessions
On Monday, June 12, the conference opened with three education sessions.
The first session featured a presentation by Rebecca Brewster, President of the American Transportation Research Institute. Brewster presented results from multiple studies documenting the critical challenges of nationwide vehicle electrification and the impacts of zero-emissions trucks.
The sessions then widened its lens as three industry experts discussed the region’s and country’s current policy trends. On this panel were Sean Cota, President and CEO of the National Energy & Fuel Institute, Michael Giaimo, Northeast Regional Director of American Petroleum Institute, and Rob Underwood, President of the Energy Marketers of America.
The third and final education session featured a panel on energy emergency preparedness and response. The panelists included Steven Mallory, director of Operations and Response for Maine Emergency Management Agency (MEMA); Deborah Lord, Maine’s State Exercise Officer; Faith Staples, Technological Hazards Program Manager for MEMA; and Dr. Robert Christensen, State Emergency Operations Center Manager for New Hampshire’s Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
